Not every breakout is the same. Acne vulgaris and the small, uniform bumps commonly called “fungal acne” can look confusingly similar — and some people deal with both at the same time. This is one of the reasons this formula was developed as a more comprehensive treatment for stubborn, congested, breakout-prone skin.
At its core is a combination of 1.5% Salicylic Acid + Glycolic Acid. Salicylic Acid is oil-soluble, allowing it to work within congested pores where blackheads, whiteheads and closed comedones form. Glycolic Acid adds surface exfoliation, helping with the rough, uneven texture that often accompanies persistent acne and congestion.
But the formula is not simply “a higher percentage Salicylic Acid serum.” It is an emulsion, supported by Urea, Panthenol and Oat, which add hydration and skin comfort around a fairly intensive exfoliating system. That is why percentage alone doesn't tell you how strong — or how drying — a Salicylic Acid product will feel. The vehicle and the rest of the formula matter too.
This also explains where it sits within the AccuFix range. The Encapsulated SA + Niacinamide Serum is the lighter, oil-and-pore-focused option for oily skin, blackheads and everyday pimples that don’t go too deep. Glass Skin Refiner is for gradual pore, texture and overall skin refinement. This serum is the one to reach for when the problem has become more treatment-led: persistent breakouts, established comedones, rough congestion and fungal-acne-prone bumps that keep returning.
And although the emulsion format can feel more cushioned than some watery acid serums, this is still a strong exfoliating treatment. Start slowly. Do not combine it with other exfoliating acids in the same routine, and reduce frequency if your skin starts becoming persistently dry, stingy or irritated. The goal is to clear congestion consistently — not to peel your way to clear skin.
Apply 2–3 drops to clean, completely dry skin at night, after cleansing and before moisturiser.
Start 2–3 nights per week and increase frequency only if your skin is tolerating it comfortably. To increase tolerability you can absolutely also apply this after your moisturiser instead of applying it before.
This is a strong exfoliating treatment — using it more often than your skin can handle will not clear acne faster.
A great complement to this product is our Azelaic Acid Serum. We wouldn’t recommend starting both together but if you’ve been using this for a few weeks and your skin has built tolerance, the Azelaic Acid Serum used on alternate nights with this can really boost your results.
Important:
- Do not use in the same routine as other exfoliating acids, including glycolic acid toners or other Salicylic Acid leave-ons.
- If you're also using a retinoid, alternate nights when starting rather than stacking them together.
- Reduce frequency if you develop persistent dryness, stinging or peeling.
- Use SPF every morning while using exfoliating treatments.
1.5% Salicylic Acid
An oil-soluble BHA that can work within congested pores to help clear blackheads, whiteheads, closed comedones and recurring breakouts.
This is the ingredient doing most of the pore-clearing work in the formula, making the serum particularly useful when acne has progressed beyond simple oiliness or occasional congestion.
Glycolic Acid
An AHA that complements Salicylic Acid by exfoliating more at the skin's surface.
It helps improve the rough, uneven texture and buildup that often accompanies persistent acne and congestion, giving this formula broader exfoliating activity than a Salicylic Acid-only treatment.
Urea
A highly effective skin-conditioning and humectant ingredient that helps hold water in the outer layers of the skin.
Panthenol
Also known as Pro-Vitamin B5, Panthenol helps support hydration and skin comfort.
Oats
Oats provide additional soothing and skin-conditioning support, helping cushion the feel of a formula built around two exfoliating acids.
Aqua, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Urea, Glycolic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Propylene Glycol, Salicylic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Panthenol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Zinc Oxide, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour

FAQs
This is our treatment-focused option for stubborn acne, persistent comedones and rough, congested skin.
It is particularly useful for recurring pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, closed comedones and fungal-acne-prone bumps, especially when basic oil and pore maintenance is no longer enough.
The formula combines Salicylic Acid + Glycolic Acid, so it addresses both pore congestion and the rough surface texture that often comes with persistent breakouts.
Not necessarily. Percentage alone does not tell you how strong, effective or drying a finished product will be.
This is a leave-on AHA + BHA emulsion, so its performance depends on the entire formula: Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, the vehicle, contact time and how frequently you use it.
Our 2% Salicylic Acid Cream also exists for a different reason — it delivers acne treatment in a richer cream vehicle, rather than simply being the “stronger version” of this serum.
Choose according to your skin and acne pattern, not just the percentage on the bottle.
Yes. This is one of our favourite AccuFix treatments for fungal-acne-type breakouts.
It helps clear the small, stubborn, uniform bumps commonly associated with fungal acne, while also treating ordinary acne, blackheads, whiteheads and clogged pores — particularly useful because the two types of breakouts can look similar and can also coexist on the same face.
The formula is also currently positioned as fungal-acne/Malassezia compatible.
It can. Exfoliating ingredients can cause purging because they speed up the process through which existing clogged pores come to the surface.
You may temporarily notice more pimples or clogged bumps in the areas where you normally break out.
The best way to manage purging — and reduce the chance of confusing irritation with purging — is to start slowly and avoid combining this serum with other exfoliants. Begin around 2–3 nights per week and increase only as your skin adjusts.
Purging should not mean repeatedly burning or severely irritating your skin. If you develop persistent stinging, significant redness or heavy peeling, reduce your frequency rather than trying to push through it.
Start 2–3 nights per week and build up gradually.
This is a strong AHA + BHA treatment, so there is no need to rush into daily use. If your skin remains comfortable, you can gradually increase the frequency.
And don't combine it with other exfoliating acids just because your acne is stubborn. More exfoliation does not automatically mean faster clearance.
We don't recommend using multiple exfoliating leave-ons in the same routine.
This serum already contains Salicylic Acid + Glycolic Acid, so adding another BHA, AHA toner or exfoliating treatment can unnecessarily increase irritation.
If you want to use another exfoliant elsewhere in your routine, alternate days rather than layering them together.
Yes — but we only recommend this combination for experienced active users, not beginners.
First build up your tolerance to the Salicylic Acid Serum on its own. Once your skin is comfortable with it, you can introduce a retinoid on alternate nights rather than layering the two together.
Our Encapsulated Retinol + B5 Serum is a particularly good pairing because it was formulated with tolerability in mind. A simple approach could be:
Night 1: Salicylic Acid Serum
Night 2: Moisturiser/recovery night
Night 3: Encapsulated Retinol + B5 Serum
Build tolerance to each treatment independently before combining them within the same weekly routine.
Yes, it can help with flat post-acne marks and uneven texture — especially when combined with the right complementary treatment.
Salicylic Acid helps keep pores clear while Glycolic Acid supports surface exfoliation, so the serum can gradually improve some of the discoloration and roughness acne leaves behind.
However, combining this with our Azelaic Acid Serum can significantly help enhance results for acne marks. Both products compliment each other well. Salicylic Acid focuses on congestion and active acne, while Azelaic Acid helps with post-acne pigmentation, redness and ongoing blemish-prone skin.
Use them in separate routines or alternate them initially if your skin is sensitive.
It will not remove indented or raised acne scars, which involve structural changes in the skin.
Yes, but modify how you use it rather than treating it like a full-face daily serum from day one.
If your skin is sensitive or reactive:
- apply moisturiser first, then the serum;
- use only one drop;
- focus it on the problem areas rather than applying it over your entire face;
- start just 1–2 nights per week and increase only if your skin remains comfortable.
Applying moisturiser first can buffer the treatment and make it easier for sensitive skin to tolerate.
If your skin is already burning, heavily peeling or barrier-damaged, however, give it time to recover before introducing an exfoliating treatment.
Yes.

I have been a regular customer of Accufix and I have been using this product religiously since 2023 and I absolutely love the product. It is THE BEST SOLUTION for fungal acne and it has helped my skin so much. However, I recently ran out of older bottles of the product and bought the new packaging which isn't good at all!!!! The product is less in quantity now, and it doesn't get out of the dropper, and the major product isn't coming out of the glass bottle. Considering its consistency it should be in its older packaging. Please bring it back!!!! Attaching picture of the old one, I love it!!!! And its needed!!!

Product is effective and gives a true feeling of buying an active product. Other than this, every skin situation is slightly different. So take care of your inside to outside!
I've been using Accufix Cosmetics' Salicylic Acid Serum and I'm thrilled with the amazing results it's given my skin! Not only has it improved my skin texture, but it's also helped remove acne marks. I've tried numerous products to get rid of acne spots but this Salicylic Acid serum is hands down the best. Thank you!

This serum works on my skin good suddenly I have lots of acne and oily skin due the this summer season and I started using this and it control my oil and also exfoliate my skin and works on acne 💖
I ordered a cleanser, sunscreen and salicylic acid, at first I thought it wasn't working but after a while, saw a significant difference in my skin definitely worth the money and time and definitely will buy more🫶🏻
I can't give an accurate review right now, as I think I am having a purging period right now. Overall good, but the quantity is less.
My sister is using this since last year and has go significant results in her acne control
Can’t praise enough. It worked when brands like Laroche posay or Glow recipe didn’t
I’m extremely happy after using this product. Before buying it, I was worried it might dry out my skin, but I decided to give it a try—and I’m amazed by the results. My oily, blackhead-prone nose has become much more balanced after using this serum. I highly recommend it to everyone—it’s truly the best!
So good!!
this serum is so great. All of their products are worth every single penny.
It's working so good on my skin, I can see clear results in a very short time.
It's good for acne though not getting results on oil control, will order again 👍🏽
Really like it good for my fungal acne….
Well it controlled my sudden breakout in about two weeks with fewer new ones. I feel my pores less visible now after about two weeks use. I will continue the use and hopefully buy again.
As I have given review about the cream. This one also is a well researched and formulated products. I agree with the founders message that low cost products are faking you as actives and other supporting ingredients are expensive and companies selling low cost products are just robbing you and handing over trash.
Cleared my shit up
Outstanding results
Very good serum
I absolutely love this salicylic acid serum, it is literally liquid gold for the acne-prone, dull skin with hyperpigmentation and open pores. It works magic overnight and you literally see visible results within 12 hours of application, the acne size is reduced and the redness too, and in a month your skin has smooth texture that you dream of.
Not only it combats acne, but also gets rid of hyperpigmentation and tightens pores, and in a month your skin transforms to what you could never imagine.
The best part is, that is very affordable despite the excellent results. Therefore, I recommend to everyone suffering from acne-prone, dull, hyperpigmented skin to definitely give this a try. It’s a solution to all your problems in just 1 bottle! 🫶
Its been 8 days I'm using salicylic acid serum along with cream B3-B5 and my skin start processing with the chemicals but yes I'm seeing visible difference how skin improving by days. Will review back after getting complete results. Thank you!
Great product 👍 i used it, works very effectively. Highly recommended
I want salicylic acid emulsion back 😭, that packaging was so good, was easy to carry while traveling. This new packaging is just like typical serums, not easy to handle. Previous packaging plus texture was a showstopper, please bring that back 😭🙏
